Getting Ready

Things have been busy around our house. We have really been rearranging things. Our dining room is now a play room for Hayden. Hopefully this will allow me to get more things done (cooking, cleaning, etc). Here are some pics:

His train table is here and it also holds his cars. He loves the car garage. The car mat is from ikea. The kitchen is from the thrift store. Most of his books are on the shelf over in the corner so we put his toy story couch there so he can read or do puzzles. There also random toys around the room and in the toy box (which we got at the flea mkt) and a small TV, but his time with that is very limited. Our new deep freezer is also in here. I LOVE my deep freezer. So far we have frozen:

cooked ground meat
chicken lasagna
chicken spaghetti
meatballs
chicken fried rice
shepherds pie
pulled beef
chicken pot pie
cookies -- choc chip, oatmeal butterscotch, monster cookies, sugar, and peanut butter
taco soup
cinnamon streusel pancakes
Pasta E Fagioli soup
Tuscano Soup
Calzones
Pepperoni Rolls
Cake
Chicken Gnocci Soup
Cooked Taco Chicken

We also went to Trader Joe's and got some pre-made meals.

Hayden's room is finally done. He was so excited at his new things. He kept pointing at things and saying "Mommy look at that". It was so cute and made me happy.

He will eventually get a headboard for his bed. Mike will probably make one. The bookshelf holds lots of star wars things that we have collected over the years, and books, pics etc. The top has our family star wars pictures from disney. The frames on the wall are just framed sheets of scrapbook paper. The tent and wall clings are from Grandma. The dresser was his great grandma's on Mike's side with a poster above it.

The baby room is also done.

I already showed you the bedding. The dresser was left behind when Mike's parents moved. The doll on the dresser was made by my Aunt Lou and is sitting on a bench I got at the thrift store. We moved the soft recliner into her room for night time feedings. I made the baby letters with scrapbook paper that are above her changing table. We put some books in crates for her. Notice I got Hayden to let her have the ugly Cinderella doll from Disney. So far so good! He does randomly walk into her room and point to the crib and say "that's mine!".

I have also been able to fill her closet with clothes. Mostly from outlets, consignment stores, and thrift stores. There are also some of Hayden's clothes too.
