Cookies and some real food for Hayden

So ever since I have had Hayden my metabolism is crazy. I am constantly hungry...no famished! Especially for sweets. So I think this week I am going to try to make these cookies:

They have some different techniques used but are supposed to be really good.

We did have a yummy dessert at Grandma Barb's on Sunday. So that hit the spot. Hayden enjoyed seeing Grandma, Kennedy, Great Grandma and Aunt Patti. And so far Hayden has slept the entire night again the past 2 nights. Yeah!! But I am not sure if that is b/c he is full now (from eating cereal) or b/c he is sick (he is taking much longer naps due to the flu). We shall see. Of course last night I was waking up every hour with a bad cough. Hayden slept from 9pm to 8am. I couldn't even enjoy it!!! :(

A very sporty day

Today was a busy day for us. I had to coach 2 soccer games today. Hayden came to the afternoon game and was a big hit. He was so happy. He smiled at everyone and blew bubbles at them. He did cry once when everyone started screaming. Don't ask about the games... it wasn't a great day for the Hotspurs.

Afterwards we watched the Pitt game. That was one crazy game. I had picked Villanova to move on in my pool, but would have preferred Pitt to win.

Still a big boy

Hayden had his 4 month check up today. He is over 28 inches long and over 16 lbs. 97th percentile. So still a big boy. I made Mike come sinve he was getting shots. Ihated that part last time b/c he just sobbed and sobbed. He barely wimpered during his shots this time. Way to make mommy look like an idiot.

he is allowed to start cereal and baby food. Yeah! And Today he was really trying to crawl. He is getting so big.

American Idol and Real Food

Tonight we are just hanging out and watching American Idol. Hayden loves the music and the flashing lights. He sits in his chair on our coffee table and watches.


Hayden is still getting up in the middle of the night. He is just so hungry. So today we tested to see if he is ready to eat some "food". So we gave him some rice cereal. It seemed like a success.


So of course he was a mess so we had to give him a bath.

And He still won't go back to sleeping thru the night. He was up at 1:50 this morning. Ugh!

Hayden was so happy the other night. Mike and Hayden played a game where they would laugh when Hayden spit out the pacifier. Hayden was cracking up! I tried to get the camera in time. He is still laughing here but not nearly as hard. Once he sees the camera he just gets serious.

March Madness

Have you done your bracket yet? Ours are done and turned in for our friendly family competition. We are rooting for Pitt of course, but I didn't pick them on my bracket. We shall see.



This week had been a little rough. We finally got over the flu. Now Hayden is waking up one to two times a night. Not fun! And both Mike and I have colds.



I still have been taking Hayden out and enjoying the nice weather while we can. We went and sat by the creek. He loved just loved looking around.

Hayden can now roll over from his back to belly. His arms get stuck but he can do it. He also really wants to sit by himself. He will try to sit up in his bouncy chair or car seat. Sometimes he gets mad if you are holding him and supporting him. He is a stubborn boy. He doesn't cry much but he sure does scream.

We thought he might suck his thumb but that is not happening anymore. He has been sucking his fingers for a few weeks. He really goes at them. He sucks, chews and usually gags himself. But he doesn't care. He also babbles while doing it.



We go to the dr. next week so we will see how big he really is. Everyone is always surprised when we tell them how old he really is. Grandma calls him moose!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

We have all been sick the past few days. Mike and I both had to take off of work. I think Hayden was not feeling well either b/c he was sleeping a lot and fussy. Luckily I took this picture last week ;)

Waterfall trip

We enjoyed the nice weather yesterday and headed up to the Butler area. Our first stop was Cascade Park in New Castle. This used to be an amusement park in the earlier 1900's. Now it is just a regular park. You can read about the amusement park here: http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM1X36. Hayden loved being out. His eyes never stopped moving. He was very happy too.



Above is Hayden and I with the falls in the background. We didn't get too close to the falls. It was too hard for me to climb thru everything with Hayden on me. All of the climbing around must have tired Hayden out. He was only up for one hour and when we finished here, he passed out before we even pulled out in the car!



Our next stop was Springfield falls in Grove City (above). These falls were actually kind of big. The path down to the falls eroded so we had to settle for an upper view.

Afterwards we did a little shopping at Grove City. We got Hayden a new old man's hat b/c his old one doesn't fit.

So it was a fun, long day for us. Hayden must really be pooped b/c he is still sleeping!

Sick?

Well today is not the best day. Hayden isn't feeling too well. He is cranky!

I think that one of the kids at the daycare gave me pink eye.

Speaking of the daycare, it is still completely out of control there. The boy I work with is really having a hard time. Today he painted his face with foam paint when I turned my head. We spent some time in the quiet cube today!

Well I don't want to spend an entire post complaining like some people do on their blogs. So in happier news it is supposed to be nice this weekend. We are hoping to take Hayden on his first waterfall trip with us. We are going to try and see:

Such a big boy!

We measured Hayden last night and he is almost 28 inches. So he is basically the size of a 9-12 month old. He is definately a drooler. He soaks thru his clothes daily. Now that he is constantly sucking his fingers it has gotten worse!

He loves music, especially American Idol b/c it has music and flashing lights! He still enjoys being out in public and especially loves being outside.

He is very good at holding his head up. He holds it up well on his belly but hates it!



He can put weight on his legs and stand with help.



He enjoys playing in the exersaucer. This is great for me. I put it down in the basement. Hayden plays in it while I run on the treadmill.



He is sleeping and napping well. He still likes to be wrapped up.

Last night he had fun with his visit from grandpa and his MUCH OLDER (he he) cousin Jackie.
