Our baby shower was this weekend. It was at Karen and Tim's house. Everything was great! We had food from Rockafellar's, a blue chocolate fountain, and got lots of presents for the baby.

Here are some of the pictures:

Landscaping, Promotions, Soccer, and More

Mike and I have been working around the house a lot. We finished the downstairs guest room and sitting area. We re-arranged the laundry room. We also have been working outside. We dug up all of the plants that we will not keep up with. Mike used the roter tiller and got everything level. We redid the path together. Mike worked almost 2 days straight to get it done. We added some mulch/bark to the sides. We kept some bushes and plan on getting some more. We also added some solar lights. Here is a picture of it.

At the top of the path it goes into the house and then also goes up a little bit more to the right. We have cleared an area for a patio. We were going to get some nice chairs and a table to go there. But I got a small pool with a filter at a going out of business sale so we may be putting a pool there next year. We will see.

Mike's promotion is now official. He is the NOC Supervisor. Yeah!

The soccer team is still doing well. The Trib has us ranked #3 and the Post Gazette has us ranked #5. We will see if they can keep up the good work.

Baby update....I am doing well. The kids at the daycare they send me to for work are killing me! Every 5 minutes one girl tells me my baby is getting bigger and bigger. Today she told me I was going to the break the chair! Gotta love kids.

Enjoy your weekend. We have a picnic for Mike's work and our baby shower. We are excited to see everyone.

Pegnancy Photo

This is the only pregnancy picture Mike and I have taken the entire time. We laugh b/c we always take tons of pictures but not with this pregnancy. Oh well.

My doctor appointments are every 2 weeks now. She said everything is fine. So that is good.

And in BIG news (not really)...We may have a name picked out. I think we just need to sit on it a few days and make sure.

Here are some things I miss since I have been pregnant:
Running/Playing Soccer, anything active!!!
Feta Cheese/Blue Cheese
Pop -- I want pop everyday now for some reason. Esp Pepsi
Hot Baths (I mean really hot)
Turkey Sandwiches
Sleeping on my Stomach
My belly button being in. (I had an outy all growing up and it finally went in. Now it is back!!!)

The soccer team is doing well. We are still ranked around #5. The girls are fun but a handful. Last week during an important game one of the girls came running past me on the sideline and said "Brooke, I need your help!" So I motion for her to come over and she says "My tooth fell out I need you to hold it". So I got to hold her fake tooth for her so she could still play. Gross. It was the tiniest tooth I have ever seen. It was like a baby's first tooth. I didn't know that would be one of my duties as coach when I signed up for the job!

I hope everyone enjoys their weekends. All of my teams have games and I have to work so I will be pretty busy. Hopefully I will be home in time to see the entire Steeler game.

About the Team

Sigh...I hate giving interviews for newspaper articles. They always manage to make the coach sound dumb. This article just came out about my team:

Everything you see in quotes I did not say. I just do not talk like that..."Avenging Last Years loss". That is so not me! And no I do not want to have the baby while playing at Hershey. That would not be fun. Mike also loves that he is often referred to as Mike Mangis !!!
If you can't read the article, you can see it here: http://www.thealmanac.net/ALM/Story/09-10-sls-girls-soccer-w-pix)

At least the team is doing well. They are ranked anywhere from 5th to 8th in the WPIAL depending on what paper you read. We might move up in the rankings b/c we just beat a team that was ranked ahead of us. The girls are working hard and the season has been a pleasant surprise so far. I have went from the coach that demonstrates and plays with the girls to the coach that just yells from the sidelines. I figure after I fell one day just walking and made the girls cry I wont' give them anything else to worry about!

First Post

Well we decided to start a blog. We figure it is a great way to keep in touch with family (especially those across the country) and friends. Hopefully you will enjoy reading our stories and seeing our pictures.

September has been pretty busy so far. High School soccer has officially started so I have been busy. I am still working my regular job, coaching high school, and coaching a U-12 girls cup team... all while pregnant. It is has been a little crazy! But I feel good, and it keeps my mind off how uncomfortable I actually am, since I am getting bigger and bigger.

The pregnancy is going well. Can't really complain. I get a lot of nose bleeds but other then that everything is normal. We are excited for our little guy to arrive soon. We still have lots to do to get ready for his arrival...Like pick a name!!

Mike is working hard at his job at Expedient. He has been golfing a lot this summer. He has been working around the house to finish up some projects and working outside on our landscaping.

Well, we hope everyone is doing well. I will try to add some pictures later.
