The Strip

We headed the Strip District one nice Saturday morning.

1st stop was Peace, Love, and Little Donuts.  The maple bacon donut was delicious.
 as were the others...

Amelia enjoyed her vanilla donut.

Then we walked around.  We got a huge pepperoni roll, some fudge, home made root beer, and delicious tacos from a taco stand.  Sadly no pictures of any of these.

The kids did an art project.  They loved it and spent a lot of time here.

Their favorite part was all of the colored tape!  Hayden said his was a dungeon.

They hated the fish market.  Hayden was disgusted by the smell

He did want to get this huge tube of ground meat though!

Afterwards we went to the waterfall fountain by the baseball stadium so the kids could play.  They had a blast.

A special Hayden story

This story makes me so happy.

So most people know that Hayden can be a little stubborn and difficult.
At Sunday school his teacher was teaching a lesson and she decided to "test" the kids.  She told them she was going to leave the room for a few minutes but she needed them to stay seated and be reverent (this somehow tied into her lesson).  So she "left" and was peaking in the room.  Our Hayden was the ONLY kid who listened!!!!!  The other kids started running around, drawing on the chalk board, whatever.  Hayden sat in his seat with his hands in his lap like a little angel.  He did tell the kids one time that the should sit. When  the teacher came back he got a special reward.  I  am so proud of my little man!!!!!!!!!

4th of July 2013

For the 4th of July we went to Racoon State Park with some friends and family  The weather didn't look to good. Luckily, it turned out to be a beautiful day.

The kids loved swimming.  Hayden swam all day and didn't want to leave.

Amelia grabbed a tube and swam on her own most of the day.  She had a blast.

They also played in the sand.

The boys grilled on the disposable charcoal grills.

The kids enjoyed their lunch of mainly chips!

Phil wanted to rent a boat so the boys got one and rowed down to us.

Then the kids took turns riding in it.

Hayden and Kennedy really enjoyed it.

Amelia hated it.

We stayed from 11 am to 4pm.

We got home and later were too tired to make dinner.  The pizza place by us was closed so we ate at Eat N Park since kids eat for 99 cents.

Then we went to the Smith's house.  We did some sparklers.

Poor Amelia got scared when a neighbor let off a firework rieht above us.  None of us were expecting it so she was so upset.

We watched Scott Twp fireworks from the road.  Hayden held his ears b/c the neighbors kept lighting big fireworks right above us so it was loud.

It was a great 4th of July so we weren't too upset to break our tradition of going to Kennywood.  (we decided not too since we went to Lagoon and will be going to Idlewild in a few weeks)

Lagoon

While in utah we also spent one day at an amusement park called Lagoon. All of the cousins came and they had a blast. Hayden loved the roller coaster and running around with his older cousins. Amelia was happy to ride in kiddie land with Claire.

We got this awesome old time photo while there.

Hayden's regular scowl is perfect for these type of pictures.
Amelia loved her dress and headband and was just twirling and smiling the whole time. Hayden was happy to have guns and ammo.

Funny story. While there we ran into my old boyfriend. What are the chances!?  Ha ha.

Overall another great day.  That is it for our Utah posts.
