Hayden's 1st Haircut

Hayden got his first haircut on Sunday. It was probably a little bit overdue but I wasn't ready to part with his curls. But by mid day (on any normal day) those cute curls became a frizzy "monica in jamaica" mess. And the front hair/bangs would clump together and poke his eyes. So it was time...

Grandma Barb cut it. He never cried. He sat still for a little bit but got antsy eventually. He was such a good boy. Its amazing how much different he looks and we only cut off the tiniest bit of hair. He looks like such a big boy.

Here are some before shots:

Daredevil

So here is a picture of Hayden playing nicely with a riding car.

I call Hayden our little daredevil. He is fearless. And it doesn't help that he has a high threshold for pain so he doesn't learn from his accidents b/c they don't hurt him!

So anyways, sometimes he will play with his toys appropriately. 90% of the time he is a crazy maniac and this is how I find him....

I can't believe he hasn't fallen yet. He must have great balance, especially wearing footsie pj's! He is not touching the wall or anything. He does this on everything!

The other day I was with him in the basement playing. He was playing nicely by himself for over a half an hour. I must have dosed off for a second. I woke up to him screaming to get my attention. He was standing on his sliding board, jumping up and down. Not a fun way to wake up. He is crazy!

What a way to wake up!

On the weekends we take turns waking up with Hayden. On Saturday we didn't discuss it. Hayden was up pretty early. Mike went and got him and started to change his diaper. I stayed in bed only to have a naked Hayden come up into bed with me. He thought it was so funny to keep sticking his naked butt in my face. I thought for sure I was going to get peed on.

P.S. Don't you love Hayden's awesome bed head!

John's Birthday Party

This weekend we went to cousin John's 3rd Birthday Party. It was at the Sewickley YMCA and was Hayden's first big kids party. He had a blast. The kids gym was perfect for him. He got to run around, climb, slide, etc.

Hiking at Settler's Cabin

On Saturday we had warm weather (80's) so we got together with Hillary, Eric, and Kennedy and walked the trails at Settler's Cabin Park. We hiked to the little waterfall and back. The kids loved it. The picture above is my favorite of the day. Kennedy was way into what "Hawk" (or "Hockey") was doing today. They were so cute.

Afterwards we played in the park. The kids rode the swings forever. They would just stare at each other and swing back and forth. Kennedy would ask each of us to sing to her (really just say Wheeeeee!)

Easter Pictures

We had a very nice Easter. The weather was great. We got to spend a lot of time outdoors.

Hayden enjoyed opening his basket in the morning. He ran right to it all excited. He liked the bat and the shovels the best.

We had breakfast at Grandma Barb's. Hayden wasn't into opening his basket as much this time (which was an awesome basket). He was too hungry. He devoured 3 plates of breakfast casserole. Later he played with his Thomas train and the bubbles.

After breakfast he enjoyed his visit with Pap. Later we had dinner at Grandma Barb's. Hayden enjoyed playing with his older cousins (esp. licking Regan's tongue!).

Check out our Easter dessert I made here

I also have some pictures from the Easter Egg hunt Hayden went to on Friday. He picked up one egg, shook it and then threw it across the yard and the money went flying out. He thought that was pretty funny. That was all the interest he had in it. He wanted to play in the dirt/woods with the big boys.
