Disney Cruise day 5 -- Castaway Cay

Our last day on the ship was the one i was most looking forward to... our day at Castaway Cay.  This is the Disney private island.  I had read that it can be hard for the ship to dock there if the weather is bad or its too windy.  After our windy day the day before i was nervous.  Thankfully it was not windy at all!  It wasn't super hot but it was close to 70 and the sun was out.  So that was fine by me.  :)

We got our breakfast and headed off the boat.  Private island are nice because you get off the ship and everything you need is there.  No trying to get a cab, no paying for loungers, no buying food, etc.

It was decorated for Christmas when you get off.

the kids loved the sand snowmen.

Amelia loved the sleigh

we got a family picture in front of the christmas tree.

We walked to the family beach and ran right into Mickey with no lines.  So kids got a picture.

Then we got a family one.

The one with Grandma Barb.

Hayden saw Pluto and wanted a picture.

Then we found a nice spot on the beach without anyone around us.

we got some nice pictures of the kids.

Then me with the kids.

And a family shot.

and one with Grandma Barb.

The kids enjoyed playing in the sand.

We braved the chilly water.  It wasn't too bad once you got in.

We swam to the play area.

Hayden found his friend Shane and they enjoyed playing most of the morning.

We had lunch on the island.  And ice cream.  And drinks.

I got a lot of reading done.

Mike played in the sand and relaxed in the water.

Later we rode the water slides.

I did the twist one.

Mike did the tunnel one.

Hayden swam out to do it but chickened out.  The kids enjoyed squirting the guns.

Amelia went to the character dance party.  She loved it.

We did some more swimming.

Before we headed back the kids dried off by playing in the games area.

We stopped to see Olaf at the post office.

And saw stitch before we boarded.

The last night is always sad.  you can't relax because you have to pack everything because they take your suitcases that evening.

We did take Amelia to listen to the live band so she could dance a little.

We enjoyed our last dinner.  The kids played in the kids club one last time.

Amelia wanted to meet Minnie one last time.

Mike and Hayden went to the movies.  Amelia and I watched the show from the theater on the TV but fell asleep.

The next day we woke up and were docked in Miami and had to get off the ship.  Hayden and Mike would be heading home.  Amelia, Grandma Barb, and I would be heading to Orlando to visit Quinn.
