Snow Days

Hayden loves playing in the snow.  He begs to go out and help shovel the driveway.  He loves to do anything that adult men do (shoveling, hammering, etc).

He has really enjoyed sled riding.  We bought him a tube to use now.  He loves it.

Amelia is hit or miss. Some days she will play outside for a long time and others she is done one minute later.

Funny story about Amelia:  She has pink snow pants and boots a girly coat, etc.  But I had saved Hayden's blue, waterproof gloves.  She refuses to wear them.  She will scream and throw them at you and go get her little pair of pink knitted/cost a dollar mittens.  Then she is happy until she goes outside and her hands are cold.  So I looked everywhere and finally found her a pink pair of waterproof mittens.  She is happy now!

We have built a snow man a few times.

We invited the cousins over to sled ride.  Look at Kennedy's face.  Ha ha

Mike loves to make the track.  He gets way into it.  We have to build a pile of snow to crash into to slow you down or else you wreck into the house!

Mike and Eric build a jump.  The kids loved riding over the jump.  Hayden would go flying.

Mommy did it too

Mike and Eric decided to "jump" over each other.

Amelia and Brady wanted none of that and happily sat on the stairs eating home made chocolate chip cookies.

Everyone has been enjoying the snow...except on Friday.  It was so cold and snowed so they didn't salt the roads because it wouldn't have worked.  I was at work when the snow hit and left around lunch time.  It was so bad.  My 15 minute commute took me over 2 hours.  Traffic was horrible on the parkway from Moon.  People were stuck everywhere.  I made to my exit but got stuck a little more then halfway up the small hill to the park.  Of course my phone was dying too.  I swear I willed the van up the hill (seriously only like 30 yards).  It took me 40 minutes of wiggling up but I made it and went home and took a long bath!
