I have been working with Adam for 3 years. When I met him he didn't talk and was completely in his own world. He has come such a long way. I have enjoyed being in kindergarten with him. Recently they had their kindergarten musical/play. We worked really hard to keep him focused and following directions and cues. And we had a lot of work to get him and his twin Jacob to say their lines at the same time. He also had a little obsession with the microphone and would put in his mouth, blow in it etc. So I had my work cut out for me.
Anyways, the day of the play he did awesome. He didn't need me at all. He sang every song and did the motions. He was always where he was supposed to be and he paid attention and knew when to say his individual lines with no prompting from me or any of the teachers. And when he he did his lines with his brother they did it perfectly. I was so proud. It is amazing how far he has come. I would have never thought 3 years ago that he would be able to be in a school play. Days like that I love my job.
I don't have any pictures of Adam without his scientist glasses from the play. Oh well.
