Happy Halloween

Halloween was schedule during the "Mega storm".  I wasn't sure if we would get to actually go trick or treating so we took the kids to a few places before Halloween.

First we went Trunk or Treating in the chruch parking lot.  Hayden wore his Captain America costume and Amelia was a pirate.  The kids had fun.

The weekend before Halloween we took the kids to Robinson Town center with their cousins to trick or treat around the stores.  They were all pirates.

Hayden looked great as Captain Hook.  (We even got him to wear socks!)  He enjoyed opening doors with his hook.

Amelia loved trick or treating.  She would run ahead and push to get to candy.  She would dive out of her stroller when we got to a new door.  She was crazy!

The kids already had plenty of candy but went around Glendale with the older cousins too.
Hayden changed his mind 50x over which costume to wear and finally chose captain america.

Amelia wore her rupunzel dress b/c her warm pj's fit underneath it.  She is our bald Rapunzel.  I couldn't get a good picture of her b/c she would not sit still.

She absolutely LOVED trick or treating.  I have never seen her so happy, so wild, so excited.  She would run ahead to the house and say trick or treat and then grab candy and put it in her bag.  Then run to the next.  She sprinted across the street to get more candy.  She was crazy.  She lasted way longer then Hayden and Kennedy.

The kids got tons of candy in Glendale.  Most people gave multiple pieces.  Amelia's favorite is lollipops but will take anything.  She goes to our food cabinet and yells treats.  Haydens favorites are just like Mommy... reese cups and kit kats (which we got tons of).

So overall we had a great Halloween.  Stop by if you want some candy!!

MTV's Made

http://www.pointparknewsservice.com/2012/10/15/reality-show-made-turns-pittsburgh-jock-to-beauty-queen/

A former player of mine is featured on MTV's "Made".  She has such a good heart and was doing it to increase awareness for domestic violence (she lost a friend).  If you have time try to find it and watch it.  She is made into a beauty queen.  It already aired but will be replayed and eventually put online.  http://www.mtv.com/shows/made/series.jhtml

Fall Pictures

I wanted to get family pictures with the leaves.  The timing was perfect. Hayden wanted nothing to do with it.  We were going to go to the new park after but he was so bad I just left him home.  So no family pictures.  I took Amelia just to show Hayden that she was going to the park and he wasn't.  I took a few snapshot of her but nothing great.  (its hard to set up the camera settings with a wild child and no help)
The moment had passed and I was annoyed.  Amelia didn't cooperate.  She saw swings and wanted nothing to do with picture taking.  She kept running towards the park. So I mostly got pictures of her like this...

Crying and pointing to the swings.  So no fall pictures this year.  A few days later it rained and all of the leaves are gone.  Oh well.

Pumpkin Patch

One nice fall day we headed to the Pumpkin Patch.  We already grew some pumpkins but the ones we grew were pretty big and we needed some small ones for the character pieces we had.  So we headed to Shenot's Farm.  We go there b/c it is low key.  They give you a free hayride up to the patch which the kids love.  No long waits, no paying extra for things. Just a simple hayride up to the patch.

They also give you one of their apples on the ride, which Mike loves.  At the top there is a small corn maze also.  The kids had a fun time.  They also had little cutouts to put your head thru.

I think they look a lot alike in this picture.  I had 2 people tell me that while at the patch.

Amelia loved her apple (Hayden didn't)

Hayden enjoyed running thru the corn maze and leading the way.

Here is a picture of most of our pumpkins.

A close up of Amelia's Cinderella carriage.

And here are the rest of our pictures from the patch...

Pink Out Game

This year the girls had a "Pink Out" game and raised money for Breast Cancer.  We raised well over $500.

We had a little of a last minute problem.  The night before the game we were told that we could not give the money to Susan B. Comen foundation b/c they give money to Planned Parenthood.  The Catholic Church is obviously anit-abortion so this was a conflict and caused many of the local parishes to be upset.

One of our girls wrote an article for the school paper which was publishe on line and the poor thing got a negative comment from some jerk.  It was all too stressful for me when our poor team was just trying to do something nice.

So we had to change our signs and some things, chose a new charity, update the website, etc.   After a few stressful hours we pulled it all together.  (I later found out that Susan B. Comen does not give Planned Parenthood money for breast cancer screening anymore.  Oh well).

It was a good game.  We played Canevin who is in first place.  We lost a tough game 2-1.

Amelia at 18 months

Some facts about Amelia:

She loves baby dolls.  Obsessed with all babies.  She points them out in any pictures.  I love the way she says it "bebe".

She is super strong.  She can hang from monkey bars forever.

She can say a lot of words.  But she will not call me mom.  Everyone is daddy right for some reason, even Hayden.  She used to say both of our names but refuses now.

Loves shoes.  I also love when she says shoes.  It is so cute.  But she sure does Hate her cute little Ugg boots. See below..

Asks for milk and cheese all day. She Is constantly going in the fridge and cries or tantrums when I stop her.

Speaking of tantrums, she is happy little girl most of the time but boy does she have a temper.  She has a high pitched scream that hurts your chest when she does it.

Is getting more hair but it is very light.  She is a strawberry blonde right now.

Still is tall.  She wears 24 mo or 2T clothes mostly.  Size 5 shoe.

Here is a funny picture of her eating meat (with Kennedy photo bombing!)

Hates being wet.  If you get a drop of water on her she yells

Loves the IPAD.  When she wakes up she has a routine.  She grabs her blankets, sits on the couch and waits for her cup of milk.  Then asks for her baby, then asks for the IPAD.  It is her only time to play without being bothered by Hayden since he is still sleeping.

She gets up at 7am pretty much every day.

Has a good imagination and likes playing kitchen, phones, doll houses/figures, and cars.

Cries randomly a lot at night.  Poor thing has nightmares I think.

Loves pretty things and will ooh and aah over them.  Especially dresses and sparkly things.

She gets so excited when we pick her up from my sisters after work.  She will run and jump into your arms.  Such a good feeling.

She often tells us when she has peed or pooped in her diaper.  Then she will lay down and wait to be changed.

She likes to take off her shirt and thinks it is funny.  She usually can only get one arm out and gets stuck.

She still loves to climb everything.  She now has pulls out drawers in the kitchen and uses them like stairs to get up on the counter or stove.

Can count to three or four (she often skips three for some reason)

She is my good eater.  But doesn't always like to sit to eat.  She will eat a little, try to get down and then play and come back for more.  She also likes to take food from Hayden's plate.  She thinks its funny when he gets mad.

Some new words she says are: cup, seat, thanks, tatoo (b/c we gave her one), poop, Ella, powder...

Loves to jump on our bed or in her crib.

Likes to dance to all our kids music cd's and loves Eminem's "the real slim shady".  Tell her "Please stand up" and she will do her dance to it.

When you ask her to say please she often will shake her head yes to let you know she wants whatever you are showing/asking her but won't say please.

Has the softest cheeks and I love kissing them.

She is pretty easy to go to bed (knock on wood).  She gives her baby doll a kiss and puts her in her bed.  Then gets her 2 blankets and willingly goes almost every night.  She makes you say 1,2,3 and lay the blankets on her.  Then she is good to go.  (Hayden is a whole different story, so high maintenence).  Bed time for Amelia is around 8:00

She loves pointing out babies in pictures.

She is letting me read to her now.  She would never sit still long enough (just like Hayden at that age).  But she is finally starting too.  She even brings me books and parks herself in my lap.  yay!  It makes me happy that both kids are enjoying books.

Overall she is a good little girl and fun to be around and we love her lots.

Last of our summer pictures

I forgot to post this awhile back.  So here it is...

We got to do a few fun things before the colder weather came in.

We visited a splash park over labor day weekend.

I found this cute swim camp for Amelia on a clearance rack and had to get it for her.

Autumn and her kids came for pizza.

The kids had fun riding the big wheels down the hill.

Hayden had too much fun and crashed out hard at the end of the night and was miserable.

I am sad to see summer over.  I didn't do nearly as many things as I had hoped to do with the kids.  I do enjoy fall though.  I love pumpkin cookies, seeing the leaves change here, getting under my blankets on chilly nights, soccer games, Halloween candy, Thanksgiving, etc.  So I guess its not too bad.
