Some scrapbook layouts

I haven't really scrapbooked in awhile. So I have been trying to get all of pictures done before the baby comes. Most of the pages are from our vacation to Topsail, NC or on our waterfall trips to Ohio and New York.

My famous family...

Ok not really famous but here is the article that was in the signal item for my mom's birthday.

Here is my brush with fame...I was chosen to do the 4 questions in the Post Gazette. And once again they chose to use the ugly picture of me.

Since I am the coach of a "highly successful girls soccer team" I will give you a quick update. (Ha ha) The girls won all of their playoff games this week. Not without giving me a few more gray hairs! We will be playing in the WPIAL semi-finals next week. So basically they have extended the season for me. I guess it is better then sitting at home and being bored. We also qualified for the PIAA state tournament. The first round of states start November 4th. I am due around the 15th. Who knows where they will send us to play, Erie? State College? That should prove interesting...

I will also add a quick baby update: My doctor appointments are every week now. The last appt they said I have been measuring small. This week they said everything is ok so no extra ultrasound needed. I will have to bring up the team and travelling for states at the next appt. The girls will be upset if I am not able to go with them.

Playoff time!

The regular season has come to a close. Playoffs will start next week. Of course like every other year at this time, I am sick. Stuffed nose, bad cough, etc. Not fun.

Our team had another article this week. You can see it here:
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08290/920023-362.stm

The online version does not show you the "wonderful" (sarcasm) picture of me coaching on the sidelines. I scanned the picture from the actual paper. It is awful. Here it is:

The team threw me a baby shower last Sunday. Everything was really nice. I am waiting for some pictures from one of the moms. Here are some that I have though:

Section Champs!

Today my high school team won their game against their section rival 3-0. So we are section champs! We finished with a section record of 12-0. We still have two more games to go to finish out the regular season, then its on to the playoffs...

The nursery

We have been working on finishing up the nursery. The baby will sleep in our extra room upstairs. We have had the crib and changing table built for a while now. We like the way it turned out. Now that it is pretty much done we feel just a little bit more ready for his arrival. (only a little!)

Above is the changing table. It matches the crib. It is stocked with burping cloths, blankets, and wipes. We have one thing of diapers. We will pick up some after my last shower this weekend. I made the letters for the word baby with my scrapbook paper and ribbons.

Above is a closer look at the letters.

I got this little "dresser" from the LTD catalog. We have bibs, socks, hats, pacifiers, etc in it. The word prince was from Pat Catan's.

Here is our crib. The bedding and matching decorations are from Jo Jo Designs. I wanted something plain (no characters, animals, etc) and let me tell you it was hard to find something. I found this online but it wasn't cheap. So I searched Ebay and found a good deal. I am happy with it.

Above is a better look at what we got for our bedding and decorations from the website.

This is a picture of the back wall. The two frames were from my mom.

This is the other side wall. We have had the recliner for awhile now. It is so comfy. We put toys and books in some of the baskets that we got at our baby shower. The quilt holder is from Amish country. I made the letters again that are above the toy holder.

And lastly just a shot of our closet full of clothes. Everyone has been so generous. I put two metal crates that are holding onsies and pants. The shoes are top. I have a baby shower with my soccer team this Sunday so I am sure the closet will have more cute clothes. The girls love to buy baby outfits.

Speaking of the team, they are still doing well. We are currently 13-1. If we win on Saturday we will win the section title. We have already clinched a playoff spot. We are ranked #2 in the tribune review and 4th and 5th in the post gazette and MSA sports page. The regular season ends next Tuesday. I can't believe it is almost over.

Laura...

*********Update**********
I talked to Laura's parents. She spent the night at the hospital. She has regained all feeling in her feet and legs. All tests came back negative and she was cleared to go home. She has a concussion that caused temporary paralysis.
*********************************

Please keep one of my players in your thoughts/prayers. Her name is Laura. She was hit in the head at our game tonight and immediately went limp and fell to the turf. She was out cold for a little bit. When she woke up she had no idea what was going on and didn't have feeling in her legs. She was stabalized on a stretcher and taken by ambulance. She is at the hospital now having tests done. Hopefully I will hear back from her parents soon.
