Hayden did really well at casting. I was surprised. But he did not like putting the bait on (meal worms). Amelia loved the worms and kept trying open the container.
Hayden had more patience then I thought he would (not that it was a lot but he is only 3). While we were sitting and waiting to see if a fish would bite, all of the firetrucks and ambulances returned from a parade. So we went to watch them pull into the station.
Hayden was lucky enough to get a tour and "pretend drive" a truck. It was very cool.
While we were in the station Hayden got a bite and we ran out. He started to reel the line in. When he saw the fish he got excited then reeled a little more then got scared and dropped the fish back into the water. So we helped him reel it in and gave him the net. He put the net out but stood as far away as possible it was so funny. Here is the only picture I got of him and the fish (you can't really see it) b/c he took off.
We put the fish back in the water and did some more fishing. Hayden got some bites but no more fish. Pap didn't get any bites and hayden kept letting him know it. He kept telling him "Pap you didn't get any bites, you didn't get any fish". He is so bad!
Overall it was a fun time. Hayden wants to go fishing with Pap again. He asks to go fishing almost everyday now.
